Relax,refresh your eyes and erase dark circles with natural home remedies


Eyes! Beautiful eyes! Have you ever thought how much they work and how much they are stressed out through out the day? From the time we wake up till we go to bed..most of the time fighting the harmful radiation coming out of computers, laptops , cell phones and rest of time with TV. Not only that harmful sun rays, dust, pollution! This is the age of technology and we can’t keep ourselves away from these gadgets, but then don’t you think we should give our eyes the attention and care they need? After all whats the fun in having those ugly dark circles!

Dark circles makes our eyes look so tired and overall makes our face look so dull and boring. There’s nothing much hard things to do when taking care of eyes, here are some simple home remedies that will relax your eyes, take away all the stress and tiredness and also prevent dark circles.

1.Copper vessel water

Copper vessels were used since ages in India, they had great health benefits. The positively charged water in copper jar has many healing properties. Water stored in copper vessel for at least 8 hours is rich in anti-oxidants. It also has cooling properties. So just soak the cotton pads in this chilled water and place them on closed eyelids. Keep them for 10 mins and this will refresh your eyes and anti-oxidants will fight the free radicals causing the dark circles.

2.Rose water

Rose water is best remedy for dark circles, they have soothing and cooling properties.

And rose water is available easily everywhere. In case you don’t find it just boil the water and add cleaned rose petals. Let the water cool and then you can use it, even this is also good alternative. Just soak the cotton pads in rose water, close your eye lids and put them on. Relax for 10 mins, this will really refresh your eyes.


3.Coconut milk

Coconut milk has great moisturizing properties, its great for nourishing your skin. Makes a good hair mask and also help the eyes to relax. Its enriched with vitamin E, and helps fight the dark circles and lighten the under eye skin. Soak the cotton pads in chilled coconut milk and dab it on the eye area. It very gentle and will make eyes relax.


You all must be aware of this remedy, its used in almost all the spas and salons. Relaxes your eyes during facial and other skin treatments. Cucumber has cooling properties. It is also a mild astringent, which will relax your eyes and heal the under eye delicate and sensitive skin. Just take the cucumber slices and place them on your closed eyelids. Its best if you have chilled slices, you will feel simply great.

5.Chilled tea bags

Tea bags are available in almost every house,almost all of us like to start our day with a sip of tea. Then just put those tea bags in refrigerator and use them once you are home back from work. Tea has lot of anti-oxidants, and if you have green tea then that is even better. These anti-oxidant properties help prevent the dark circles and also wrinkles.


6.Almond oil

Almond oil is high in vitamin E, massaging gently the eye area will not only relax your eyes but it will help fight the dark circles. There are two types of almond oils normal and the sweet one. I would always suggest to use sweet almond oil when it comes to skin and body. Sweet almond oil is gentle and effective as it is highly loaded with nutrients. Take few drops of this oil on your finger tips. Gently massage the eye area for 4-5 mins and then wipe it off with moist cotton pads.

7.Lemon juice and honey

Lemon is rich in vitamin C and this helps to lighten the under eye area. Where as honey has moisturizing properties. It nourishes and heals the skin and together this mixture refreshes the eyes. Just soak the cotton pads in the mixture of lemon juice and honey which are taken in equal amounts. Then dab it to your eye area. In just 5 mins you will feel the difference.


8.Chilled Apple juice

Apples are the super foods they make a great breakfast food high in nutrition and low in calories. And they make a super home remedy for dark circles. Apples has vitamin A and C, and minerals like magnesium, potassium which are essential for eye. Whether you take them internally or apply it externally they will definitely help in reducing dark circles. Soak the cotton pads in chilled apple juice. Keep them on your closed eye lids for 5 mins, and then rinse your eyes. Do this for complete 1 week and see the difference.


Amla juice has high amount of vitamin A, C, minerals and anti-oxidants. These are great for eyes, they improve the eye sight when taken internally. And also reduce the dark circles and wrinkles in the eye area when applied topically. Just take few drops of Amla juice on your fingers and gently massage them on the eye area. Doing this regularly will reduce the appearance of dark circles.

10.Watermelon juice

Watermelons are rich in vitamin A,B,C and minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium. They help rejuvenate the skin, just massage the fresh watermelon juice on the eye area. You can just massage the entire face with it and get beautiful glow to face and also get rid of the dark circles.
